Our seasonal fireworks and bonfire night raised a substantial sum for cancer charity, Teenage Cancer Trust! Here is the article printed in the Leader!
“The Holt Lodge Hotel in Wrexham has raised more than £2,111 so far for the Teenage Cancer Trust with a bonfire and fireworks event. People came in their thousands to sample the display and enjoyed a wide variety of refreshments.
Sarah Tunstall, Marketing and Communications Manager for the hotel, said donations were still coming in. She added: "We're truly overwhelmed with the generosity of the people from Wrexham and the local villages. We could not have done this without your support. Roll on 2018 for a bigger and better event!"
The total raised beats last year's total of more than £700 for the Teenage Cancer Trust, which provides nurses and specialist wards to support and care for young people between the ages of 13 and 24.
Enid Waterfall, who fundraises for TCT in the Wrexham area, said: "It is the aim of the trust to provide these specialist wards to all cancer hospitals, as seven young people a day are given the terrible news that they have cancer. This is why the trust sends sincere thanks to Holt Lodge, their staff, the many friends and all who attended the event and helped to raise the fantastic figure of £2,111.85, so that more help can be given to those in need."
